ABOUT US

Fir Tree Media – Films & Photography, telling stories with grace, honesty, and craft.

Rooted in Herefordshire, UK, we create documentary films and photography for outdoor brands, environmental organisations, and small businesses that care deeply about what they do and how they’re seen. Wherever your story leads, we travel to capture it with authenticity and care.

Every project begins with listening.
We take time to understand what drives you, what you stand for, and who you’re trying to reach. Then we bring your message to life through cinematic filmmaking and natural lifestyle photography that stay true to your vision.

Fir Tree Media grew from a love of storytelling and the landscapes around us.
It began with passion projects close to home, including our ongoing documentary about the River Wye.
That same curiosity and craftsmanship guide everything we do, whether we’re filming in the hills of Wales, documenting conservation work, or capturing quiet details in a small workshop.
That’s how we tell your stories too: grounded, patient, and sincere.

We believe meaningful stories don’t need big crews or big budgets. Just empathy, craft, and an eye for quiet beauty.

Our approach blends documentary authenticity with cinematic production, creating work that feels both timeless and real.

If you’re looking for filmmakers and photographers in Herefordshire who value craft, care, and connection, we’d love to collaborate.

MEET THE TEAM

Richard Beardsley

Hi, I’m Rich! A videographer, photographer, drone pilot, sound recordist and managing partner in Fir Tree Media based in Herefordshire. I specialise in creating thoughtful, story-driven content for small businesses, independent makers, and environmental organisations across the UK.

With a background in creative production and a deep appreciation for craft and nature, I bring a calm, considered approach to every project, whether it’s capturing the work of a local artisan, documenting a conservation effort, or creating brand films that connect with purpose.

Alongside my business partner Molly, I collaborate with a close-knit team of creatives, supporting projects from concept to final cut. My role often bridges the visual and technical, helping ideas take shape through strong visuals, clear sound, and authentic storytelling.

I believe stories grounded in people and place have the power to create real connection, and that’s exactly what I aim to deliver.

Hi, I’m Molly! I’m one of the partners at Fir Tree Media. I hold a Master’s in Sport Broadcast and worked as a content producer for over two and a half years before starting my own business with Richard. Along the way, I’ve also worked as a presenter, videographer, and editor, each role deepening my love for storytelling and creative production.

My background in sport has had a huge influence, giving me the ability to think on my feet, find the story, and connect with people in fast-paced environments. I especially love interviewing people and drawing out their experiences to create authentic, engaging content.

From playing hockey at university to working across the sports industry, I’ve developed a passion for capturing the energy and emotion of every story.

Outside of sport, my love for filming runs deep. I was the child who always had a camera in hand on family holidays, capturing every moment I could until I was asked to put the camera down. Yes, at the time, the shots may have been a little blurry or too close up, but that curiosity has grown into a lifelong passion for telling stories through the lens and finding beauty in both the fast-paced and the quiet moments.

At the heart of everything I do is a genuine passion for helping people succeed by showcasing what they do best and sharing it with the world.

Hi, I’m Cat! I’m a photographer and videographer for Fir Tree Media, and an all-around support person for the team whose mission I deeply believe in. One of my greatest joys is discovering people who do meaningful work, listening to their stories, and then shouting about what they do so others can see the value they bring to the world.

I also love singing and dancing to traditional music and rhythms, and learning foreign languages — so far mostly the Latin ones, which I absolutely adore. I connect deeply with Fir Tree Media’s values, as I’m passionate about living naturally and intentionally, choosing mindful purchases from local and independent makers, spending time outdoors, breathing fresh air, and soaking up the sunshine.

Alongside my work with Fir Tree Media, I run my own wedding photography business. My 12 years of experience in weddings has shaped the way I tell stories: noticing the small details, emotions, and connections that make each one truly unique.

Hi, I’m Laura! I’m a social media manager, photographer, and videographer with a passion for storytelling through digital content. After launching my own creative business in early 2025, I began working with brands and organisations to help them elevate their online presence through authentic, engaging visuals and strategy-led social content.

Before going freelance, I worked as Head of Digital Marketing for a restaurant group — an experience that taught me how to combine creativity with data-driven growth. I love all things social content: from planning campaigns and crafting posts to connecting people’s work and stories with audiences across the world.

My goal is simple: to help brands build communities, not just followers. Whether it’s through scroll-stopping visuals, thoughtful captions, or campaign storytelling, I’m passionate about turning ideas into impact online.
